A weekend spent in the lovely hometown of Manchester began by discovering this incredible fragrance by YSL. Black Opium Eau De Toilette launched in August 2015 and I’ve always been intrigued by this fragrance but never actually tried it. As you may have guessed I own a lot of perfume, so as soon as one had finished I was ready for a new one! This fragrance blends notes of black currant, pear, orange blossom, coffee and white musk making an addictive scent that lasts all day. The bottle is coated in glitter and pink diamon-dust, the perfect dressing table fragrance. It is the type of bottle that you would keep when you have finished the fragrance!

I have been trying out lots of different nail polishes recently and these three are my favourite. Generally I like to go for neutral shades as they go with everything and I don’t have to worry about what outfit I am wearing. The Nails Inc Gel Effect polish gives a high gloss finish without using a UV lamp. It is certainly more shiny than a normal polish but not as glossy as a gel polish. The brush is wider than normal making it easier to apply in less strokes. I didn’t experience any chipping in the first week and the polish kept its shine which gave me confidence in trying out the other shades.

Last weekend I had a hair appointment at Umberto Giannini, award winning salon in Harvey Nichols Manchester which is located on Deansgate. This was my first time at the salon and I was made to feel very welcome. Even though the salon is located in Harvey Nichols, it is surprisingly affordable and accessible for everyone, with a cut and blow dry starting from £36. They even have a student price list which is very reasonable, more details can be found here. The salon also recently won an award for the Best Salon in Manchester!

A few weeks ago I was invited to a beauty bloggers event in the Manchester Arndale centre to celebrate MCR Made Up, two days of beauty for him and her, Manchester style! Over the course of the weekend mini beauty tutorials were offered by top brands including Dior, Benefit & Lush and discount vouchers were given out for selected retailers to redeem in store.
