These are some moodboards I have created by manipulating recycled materials to create interesting textures and surfaces. I took inspiration from art, design and culture.
Whilst sorting through all my files on my laptop I came across more of my A Level art work. This is a dress I made using Fox’s mints packaging and sweet wrappers. If I am honest I really do miss spending about 10 hours a day in the art room during sixth form. However I don’t miss the sleepless nights of stitching, drawing and putting together sketch books! As you can see I have created two different versions of the top half of the dress.
Now I am back in Manchester for a couple of weeks I have a little more time to rummage and explore my personal possessions for my dissertation research at uni. Whilst looking through my large box of collected items over the years I came across these two handmade miniature models that I had spent hours making whilst doing my A-level art which I really do miss these days!
On my recent trip to London I made my way down to Liberty’s just to look at their window displays which never dissapoint. The theme was fairytale like, with sculptures made from tissue paper and organza. Each window display was different to the next creating a story of enchantment within the frame of the window.
I just love how this mannequin has been styled, including the hairstyle and makeup!
