The Hotel

Perched high on the slopes above the serene Karavostasi Beach on Greece’s mainland—just a short hop across the water from Corfu—Elix enjoys a breathtaking hillside setting with sweeping sea views at every turn. From the moment we arrived, the hotel’s private transfer made the journey effortless, setting the tone for a family stay defined by ease, elegance and serenity.

The Room

Each room at Elix, Mar-Bella Collection is designed with comfort and connection in mind. From sea-view doubles to family swim-up rooms and private-pool suites, every space maximises the panoramic Ionian views.

The décor feels relaxed yet polished — think natural wood, neutral fabrics and light that shifts beautifully throughout the day. We stayed in a family room swim up with sea view which was so spacious and perfectly laid out for a family with young children. We had a spacious master room and the children has their own room. The best part was the beautiful swim up pool with large terrace where we could relax.

The Food

Food is a huge part of the experience at Elix, Mar-Bella Collection. The resort’s dining is inspired by fresh, local ingredients and Mediterranean simplicity done well.

Saffron, the main buffet restaurant, serves generous spreads with stunning sea views — the perfect start to each morning.
Pearl, the à la carte restaurant, offers a refined fine-dining experience with creative plates and an intimate atmosphere.
Azure Beach Restaurant and Indigo Pool Bar bring relaxed lunches and cocktails with a view, ideal for long, lazy afternoons.

For the ultimate evening, enjoy a sundowner by the beach as the sky turns gold, then wander up to dinner — the kind of slow luxury that defines the Mar-Bella experience.

The Resort

The resort overlooks a private stretch of Karavostasi Beach, reached via a funicular or a scenic pine-lined path. It’s peaceful, beautifully maintained and perfect for families or couples who want to relax in comfort.

There’s a stunning infinity pool with panoramic sea views, plus family-friendly pools for younger guests. For those who love to stay active, kayaking, paddleboarding and hiking are all available.

And when it’s time to unwind, there is a beautiful spa with treatment rooms and a sauna and steam room to unwind and relax. I enjoyed a back neck and shoulder massage which was amazing!

A Catamaran Adventure to Paxos Island

One of the highlights of our stay at Elix, Mar-Bella Collection was a catamaran trip to the beautiful island of Paxos. We set off early, sailing across calm turquoise waters with the sun glistening over the Ionian Sea.

The first stop was Paxos island where we had a little walk around the qaint streets and had a coffee and enjoyed the views. We then returned to the boat and explored the blue caves. We swam straight from the boat, surrounded by clear, shimmering water, before continuing to the tiny island of Antipaxos for another swim in one of the most beautiful bays I’ve ever seen.
