A few weeks ago I spent a few days in the Lake District. Getting away child free does not happen very often so when we had the opportunity to we booked a trip to the Langdale Hotel in the Lake District! This is a place we have always wanted to visit and having visited the Lakes many times before we were keen to come back during the Summer and experience this place. The hotel is located on the forested Langdale estate which is ideally located close to Ambleside and Grasmere and has a beautiful spa on site, leisure facilities and also a restaurant which you can dine in during your stay. The place was so peaceful and it was such a great spot to have a relaxing few days away.

Spending some times in the Lake District is my favourite thing to do during the Winter months when the weather in crisp but dry and you can walk everywhere and enjoy the views. My husband and I have been to the lakes every year since we have been married as we love it so much we decided to go back again, this time with our 3 month old baby which was a completely different experience. Staying at the Windermere Suites proved to be the perfect child friendly get away and one which I would highly recommend.

I recently went to the lake district to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary. I absolutely love it here, especially this time of year when it feels all wintry and cosy and you can wrap up in layers and walk around the quaint little villages. We stayed at the Macdonald Old England Hotel & Spa in Windermere which is a traditional, cosy retreat, set on the beautiful lake of Windermere perfect for country adventures and romantic weekend getaways. Not long after arriving at the hotel we decided to have a walk around Windermere, which is full of cute little fashion boutiques and cafes. If you like hot chocolate then I would definitely recommend trying out Choccobar where they serve hot chocolate made with real chocolate, heavenly!

Visiting the Lake District after the wedding was the best thing we could have done. We stayed in an amazing boutique hotel called The Gilpin where they really looked after you and made you feel very special.
