URBAN DECAY VICE LIPSTICKS

dsc03634As soon as these Urban Decay lip products arrived at my house I removed the lipstick I had on that day and started applying these! Let’s just say I am totally obsessed with lipstick so when Urban Decay relaunched their entire lipstick line in June this year featuring 100 shades, I was very excited. Urban Decay has really upped its game with a first UK boutique in Covent Garden and Limited edition Alice and Wonderland palettes which were pretty amazing. The Vice lipstick collection comprises of both brightly coloured shades and natural looking barely there nudes, there is something for every outfit, every skin tone and every mood! I tried out two lipsticks, one from the comfort matte range and one from the cream range which were both beautiful products but very different finishes. Each of the lipsticks are encased with a gun metal lid which features an embossed logo. Certainly good value  at £15 for a luxury cosmetic brand.

MARY KAY COSMETICS

dsc02495I have to admit before I received these products I wasn’t sure about Mary Kay cosmetics as it reminded me of Avon (similar idea of door to door selling) and I didn’t know what sort of quality to expect, but I was actually quite surprised when I received them! When I read that these were matte lipsticks, I thought they would immediately make my lips look all dry and the lipstick would go crumbly, but I was totally wrong. Mary Kay have used gel microsphere technology to create rich, true stay colour that lasts all day without leaving your lips looking or feeling dry. My absolute favourite shade was the crushed berry lipstick for its colour intensity, perfect for this time of year. The lipstick glides on like a balm and gives a creamy matte effect which I really liked. These lipsticks come in 8 shades and available to buy here for £13 which I think is really reasonable. The clear-top window is actually very useful when you have a lot of lipsticks in your makeup bag and looking for a particular shade!

THE HAPPINESS PLANNER

img_5109Leading such a busy life calls for some planning which is why I’m sharing my review of the Happiness Planner. I discovered this brand only a few weeks ago and was very excited to receive the pink mid year planner in the post. It arrived in a beautiful pink box wrapped in tissue and bubble to which I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The idea of the planner is to focus on what makes you happy. What I love about the design is that it is the perfect size and is spiral bound making it easy to open the pages and lie flat. It includes a section for both personal and work goals, a schedule section, notes, a to do list and it even has a meal section. At the top of each page there is a positive quote and at the end of each month there is a reflection section so you can review the month. This planner is available in both pink and blue to buy online and retails at £40.
