I came across Melissa Bailey, a freelance illustrator who has worked for the likes of The Sunday Times Style Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar Australia. Her style of drawings are realistic yet playful and inspirational. I particularly love these illustrations of beauty products, featured in Fabulous magazine, using watercolour pencils and paints.
London Fashion Week just got a whole lot better…Topshop Unique showcased an incredible catwalk collection and I’d quite like every piece! It featured oversized fur coats worn with belts, embellished dresses and structured skirts in an array of blue, lemon, beige and burgundy. The makeup was grungy, ‘good girl, gone bad’ with middle parting clean straight hair paired with heavy black liner under the eyes and nude lips. Many of the looks featured layering of knits and coats slouched off the shoulder creating an effortless chic feel. I particularly liked the styling of the rolled down socks and fur lined ankle boots worn with most of the outfits.
Julien Macdonald closed day 2 of London Fashion week with many sequin, jewel encrusted, sparkle heaven numbers! It was clear that each piece from the collection was handmade with seamless intricate detail. The models featured slick back wet hair and bright coloured eyes using L’Oreal Paris eyeshadow palettes. They looked like beautiful sea creatures gliding down the catwalk with such grace. My favourite outfit has to be the long sleeved black bodycon dress with cut out embroidered detail and jewel embellishment up the front!
