I have to admit before I received these products I wasn’t sure about Mary Kay cosmetics as it reminded me of Avon (similar idea of door to door selling) and I didn’t know what sort of quality to expect, but I was actually quite surprised when I received them! When I read that these were matte lipsticks, I thought they would immediately make my lips look all dry and the lipstick would go crumbly, but I was totally wrong. Mary Kay have used gel microsphere technology to create rich, true stay colour that lasts all day without leaving your lips looking or feeling dry. My absolute favourite shade was the crushed berry lipstick for its colour intensity, perfect for this time of year. The lipstick glides on like a balm and gives a creamy matte effect which I really liked. These lipsticks come in 8 shades and available to buy here for £13 which I think is really reasonable. The clear-top window is actually very useful when you have a lot of lipsticks in your makeup bag and looking for a particular shade!
I recently discovered this Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Cushion foundation and was so excited to try it out. Even though this is a new product in the UK beauty world, the cushion technology has actually been around a while now, taking its cue from Korean beauty trends. I have always been intrigued by this beauty phenomenon so when Lancôme launched their compact cushion liquid foundation I was so excited to try it out. My first impression of the product was intrigue as the base comes in the box along with a sealed refill in a black wrapper. This foundation certainly creates less mess than a liquid in a bottle as you apply directly on to the face using the applicator pad included. When you first push the cushion the liquid instantly seeps through to the top layer ready for the sponge application. The amazing thing about this product is that it never drips even though it is full of liquid! A little does go a long way with this product so no need to press down too much.
Whilst on my mission to find the best restaurants in Manchester, I discovered Asha’s, the Indian restaurant located on Peter Street which I was kindly invited to try out. Most of the Indian restaurants in Manchester serve very similar food and have the same type of atmosphere until the recently opened Indian street food style places. However, Asha’s is unlike all of these places, for its beautifully decorated interior, relaxed ambience and unique take on Indian cuisine offering premium foods such as lobster and truffle naan whilst also serving classic dishes with a contemporary twist. The restaurant does looks a little dark and uninviting from the outside but it gives it an exclusive feel to it and upon stepping into the restaurant you are immediately transported to a plush Aladdin’s cave. This is by far the best Indian restaurant in Manchester, the food is so delicious and tasty and presentation and service is second to none.
I rarely add makeup brushes to my collection as I have been using Bobbi Brown and Real Techniques for years now. However when I discovered these pink bristle brushes by UBU I couldn’t resist but try them out. This complexion tool kit comes with a foundation brush, powder brush and concealer brush, all made using premium synthetic nylon hair. The kit also comes with a foundation sponge which is great when applying a liquid foundation for a smooth flawless finish. I prefer using a foundation brush than a sponge as I find it easier to blend with. I don’t think these brushes will last as long as my full coverage Bobbi Brown complexion brush but they do feel great quality and for £10 the kit really is a bargain! Available to buy at Tesco, Asda and Amazon. I have been using my recently purchased Wonderglow by Charlotte Tilbury, this product acts like a a highlighter and primer and is meant to give you photo ready skin.
