As you can see I am a little obsessed with perfume, these are a few of my favourite everyday scents. Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is the fragrance I always wear when I go out. It has such an intense sent that lasts a long time. Armani Si is a scent I wear every day as it has a freshness about it whilst still having notes of vanilla. Miss Dior by Dior fragrance is a little more fruity than the previous two and is the perfect handbag size in the 50ml. Lancome La Vie est Belle is a sweet, feminine fragrance, the names means the beauty of life which is used across all their marketing. The Aqua Allegoria range by Guerlain represent the wonders of nature and raw materials so they have very distinct scents. I like the premium quality of the bottle detail, even if I don’t wear it often it remains on the shelf in the bathroom!
Happy New Year! I thought I’d start the year off with a beauty post and share a few of my favourite lipsticks from my collection. These incredible shades by Lancome are perfect to take you from Winter and into Spring. If you like to add a pop of colour to your outfit then wearing a vibrant lippy is the way to go. Lancome has done many lipsticks over the years and I have found that their best shades are from the Rouge in Love collection, they also have great staying power, so applying maybe once in the morning and once in the afternoon is all that is needed. I found that they were moisturising on the lips also and didn’t dry them out.
Choosing a lipstick to put on when going out is just as difficult as choosing what to wear! I have a slight obsession with lipstick and even more of an obsession with a particular shade. To keep all my lipsticks and other beauty products organised I purchased these clear, acrylic drawers from Muji. I just bought 3 drawers but I may need to upgrade to one with five drawers very soon.
Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in shade ‘Penelope Pink’ has a beautiful, rich texture once applied to the lips and seems to stay on for at least 4hrs. I usually apply a lip balm before any lipstick but I don’t have to with this one. The sleek, gold packaging is super premium and comfortable to hold when applying.
Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo – This is my latest addition to the lipstick drawer, which I knew was going to happen once I had entered the world of SpaceNK. It is just a beauty haven and every time I go in I always seem to spend! I chose number 1 in the nude collection as it had slightly more pink tone which suited my skin better but the other shades are also very versatile. What I like most about this product is the crayon style applicator and smooth gliding effect it gave. It has a satin like finish which I would say is in between matte and gloss. However once it settles on your lips it does feel a little dry. These cost £22.00 and are available at SpaceNK.
Rouge D’Armani lipstick- I have had this lipstick for more than a year and wear it once a week and it still has quite a lot left. One application is all you need for 8 hours of wear, it’s actually amazing! I also love the magnetic closure and premium black design. This lipstick has a gloss finish without any stickiness and is super hydrating.
MAC Satin Lipstick in shade ‘Twig’ is my most sophisticated of the nude lipsticks as it is slightly darker in colour. This is my day to night lipstick which has a long lasting intense shade and looks great with almost any outfit.
Eve Lom Kiss Mix & Golden Radiance Bronzing Powder |
I have been so excited about Eve Lom’s complexion launch that when I saw the event on Liberty’s website I had to book a place! Champagne and macaroons were served on arrival and we were given information about the new complexion range by Eve Lom and a short presentation. Interestingly the range was introduced as skincare with colour, as opposed to Eve Lom makeup. The collection is made up of six products, the key ones being the Flawless Radiance Primer and the Radiance Lift Foundation, having tried and tested both I liked the end result. The primer can be used instead of your daily moisturiser and help to give you a flawless complexion once the foundation is applied. I found that the texture was rich, but non greasy which you don’t often find in a good primer. One small pump of foundation is all that is needed for the face, it seems to go a long way. It had a weightless silk texture and gave a healthy, radiant finish. Although you can see in the above photos I didn’t buy either of these products, I would still highly recommend them! This was mainly due to the abundance of foundation already at home in my makeup bag and the high price point slightly put me off at £40 for the primer and £50 for the foundation! However I did purchase the Golden Radiance Bronzing Powder at £42 for its easy application and beautiful sunkissed effect given using only a few sweeps. The compact packaging is perfect for a night out and you no longer have to worry about carrying both a bronzing brush and powder. I also purchased the Kiss Mix lip balm from the original Eve Lom skincare line, infused with menthol which has a tingling sensation when applied to the lips. This is so soothing and amazing for seriously dry lips which mine seem to always be.
