One of the best hotels in Manchester, The Lowry launched a three course set menu in the beautiful River Restaurant for just £15.95 during January and February! The Lowry Hotel is is located on the River Irwell, just a stones throw away from the vibrant Spinningfields. I tried out the February menu last weekend and I was very impressed by what I experienced. This is seriously good value for money and you have just a few weeks left before the offer ends so get booking! The food at the River Restaurant is excellent, if you have followed my blog for a while now you will have read about my first visit to the Lowry Hotel back in 2016.

For the starter we opted for the truffled macaroni cheese which was topped with a lemon & garlic crumb and the market soup which was mushroom. The macaroni cheese was tasty and the truffle flavour added something a little different to the dish, although not as cheesy as I would have expected. The soup was delicious and rich in flavour, mushroom is my favourite so I can’t complain!
For the main course I decided to go for the parmesan crisp chicken thigh which was served with a rocket and Parmesan salad. The chicken was succulent with a crispy coating and a generous portion for the price also. Sides included mash potato which was creamy and delicious, broccoli and the heritage tomato salad topped with balsamic pearls. For dessert we both opted for the Milk Chocolate cremeux which was absolute heaven and definitely tasted better than it looked! The inside of this dessert tasted like a milk chocolate mousse but was coated in milk chocolate and topped with cherry sorbet, an amarena cherry and crispy yoghurt pieces which were delicious.
